Aim-The aim of this experiment is to see how you can poke pencils throw the zip lock bag and it wouldn't break or leak water unless you take the pencils out
Method-You need a zip lock bag, pencils, and some water.first pore water in the zip lock bag about 3/4 of the way, then seal the bag and poke the pencils through the bag slowly.twist the pencil a bit when your poking it.
Result
Discussion-Why does the water not leak? Its because of what the plastic is made out of.The zip lock back is made out of polymer chains. The polymer has many molecules inside of them. When the pencil goes through the bag,the molecules in the polymer chain surround the pencil and making the area around the pencil tight so now water can go through.
Conclusion-My experiment was successful and I really enjoyed doing this, maybe I could try to poke the pencils through only one end of the bag and not through both.
Really cool experiment Hrishaal! I love the use of the word polymer in your discussion and you've explained the science behind what is happening really well. Very pleased it worked for you, feel free to have a look on that site and see if any other experiments look interesting to you.
